Inkmere Pte Ltd
Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 June 2026
This notice explains how Inkmere Pte Ltd (“Inkmere”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal data in connection with the Newsboard device, its companion app, and this website. We handle personal data in accordance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
1. What we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
- Reservation email address: when you ask to be notified about availability through the “Reserve yours” form.
- Pairing & settings data: when you set up a device, we store a random device identifier together with your chosen sections, sources and settings, the recent history of headlines shown on your panel (this powers the app's “On your newsboard” view), any stories you save in the app, push notification tokens if you enable notifications, and basic device events such as pairing and refreshes. All of this is keyed to the device identifier, never to your name, and old entries are pruned on a rolling basis.
- Support correspondence: any details you share when you contact us.
The Newsboard device fetches public news headlines over your own Wi-Fi connection. It has no camera, no microphone, and does not record what you read. We do not collect browsing history, location, or analytics from the panel itself.
Like almost every internet service, our hosting platform and web servers also keep short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and operations. These are not used to profile you.
2. Purposes for which we use it
We use personal data only for the purposes for which it was provided, namely to: notify you about availability if you reserved a unit; operate and configure your device; respond to your enquiries; and meet legal or regulatory obligations. We will seek your consent before using personal data for any new purpose not set out here.
3. Consent & withdrawal
By submitting your details, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of that data for the purposes above. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to our Data Protection Officer. On withdrawal we will stop the relevant processing within a reasonable time; note that this may mean we can no longer provide certain services, such as availability notices.
4. Disclosure
We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising. We may share limited data with service providers who help us operate, for example email-delivery and cloud-hosting partners, under agreements requiring them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where required by law.
5. Protection & retention
We make reasonable security arrangements to protect personal data against unauthorised access, modification or loss. We retain personal data only for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Access & correction
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you and how it has been used, and ask us to correct any inaccuracy. Write to our Data Protection Officer and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
7. Transfers outside Singapore
Some of our service providers may process data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take steps to ensure a standard of protection comparable to that required under the PDPA.
8. Contacting our Data Protection Officer
For any question, access or correction request, or to withdraw consent, contact our Data Protection Officer at [email protected]. We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be posted on this page.
